In line with our core values of health equity and clinical excellence, Pacify is committed to playing an active role in promoting diversity within the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) community.
The Diversity in Lactation Scholarship was established in partnership with the DC Breastfeeding Coalition and aims to provide financial assistance to aspiring IBCLCs from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the professional lactation field.
The scholarship will cover up to $1000 of the costs associated with becoming a first-time IBCLC; eligible expenses include the IBCLC exam, preparatory course work, and other costs related to fulfilling clinical requirements of the exam. Candidates who have already shown substantial progress toward completing their IBCLC Certification will receive special consideration, as this award can assist in surmounting the remaining financial barriers toward achieving their goals.
Pacify is currently offering scholarships to candidates in the states or cities where Pacify serves moms through a public health program. Applicants residing in the following cities and states are eligible: the City of Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, Arizona, New Mexico, Mississippi, Maryland, Missouri, West Virginia, Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and California. Applications for 2020 are now closed. Check in later this year for new announcements about next year's opportunities!
