5 tips for feeling better

Try these four tips to help treat your upset stomach:

Eat something that’s easy to digest in the morning. Try eating plain crackers or bread before you get out of bed, even if you don’t feel that hungry. Getting something in your stomach before you move around can help.

Try a midnight protein snack. If you find you are up late, eat a boiled egg, a handful of nuts or yogurt to get some protein in your body. This can take the edge off your upset stomach.

Eat many small meals all day. Have snacks like nuts, fruit and whole-grain crackers with you. It’s important to eat small meals often — eating greasy meals can make you feel worse.

Drink water. Pregnant people need more water to feel good. Try to drink 8-12 cups to give your body and your baby enough water.

Eat ginger. It may ease an upset stomach. Buy ginger candies, ginger tea, or grate ginger into home-cooked meals.
If no easy treatments work, you may need medicine. Call your doctor if you are losing weight or you throw up three or more times a day.
